Former Site of the Railway Party Branch Activity of the Communist Party of China in Goubangzi

The former site of the Railway Party Branch Activity of the Communist Party of China in Goubangzi is a cultural relic protection unit of Liaoning Province.

The former site of the Railway Party Branch activity of the Communist Party of China in Goubangzi is located within the campus of the Railway Middle School (formerly Fuli Primary School) in the Goubangzi Economic Development Zone, Beizhen City. To the east is the middle school campus, to the south is the location of the Goubangzi Railway Locomotive Depot, and to the west and north are residential areas, situated in a densely populated living district.

The former site of the Railway Party Branch activity of the Communist Party of China in the Goubangzi Economic Development Zone is situated within the campus of the Railway Middle School (formerly Fuli Primary School). It consists of four buildings with a total of 28 rooms in a flush-gable style. The site faces south and measures 32 meters in length from north to south and 40 meters in width from east to west, covering an area of 1,280 square meters. It has a courtyard-style layout, including 28 rooms such as front rooms, main buildings, and east and west wing rooms, all built as British-style tiled houses. The main building has seven rooms with a depth of 6 meters, and each side of the main building has two wing rooms. The front rooms also consist of seven rooms, each 6 meters deep, with a central door and originally served as classrooms on both sides. The east and west wing rooms each have seven rooms, are 24 meters wide, and 6 meters deep. Between the wing rooms and the east and west side rooms, there is an arched doorway on each side; the lintel of the eastern doorway is inscribed with the characters “Fuli Primary School.” The overall structure is largely well-preserved and is currently used by the railway middle school as teachers’ offices. Originally built in 1904 as a British-style building, it served as the activity site of the Railway Party Branch of the Communist Party of China in Goubangzi between 1923 and 1931. It is the site of the first Party branch established by our Party within Liaoning Province, and its architecture retains its original appearance. It provides physical evidence for the research and verification of the early history of our Party’s activities in Northeast China, and holds profound historical educational significance and value for conducting Party history education. It is listed as a provincial-level key cultural relic protection unit in the eighth batch.

Protected Area: Within the building site of the former site and within 70 meters outside the outer wall foundation of the building.

Construction Control Zone: A Class I construction control zone within 50 meters outside the protected area.
