Haicheng Tongze Middle School

Haicheng Tongze Middle School is a cultural heritage site under the protection of Liaoning Province.

Haicheng Tongze Middle School is located in Haicheng District, Anshan City.

In 1928, Zhang Xueliang gathered prominent figures from Haicheng in Shenyang to discuss preparations for its construction. In April 1929, construction of Tongze Middle School began. In June 1930, the completion ceremony was held. The school was officially accepted and put into use in June 1931. During the Anti-Japanese War, Tongze Middle School served as a "Shidao School." During the rule of the Kuomintang, the KMT forcibly relocated the Provincial Third Normal School to the Tongze Middle School campus. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Tongze Middle School has offered high school education to this day, and was formerly known as Haicheng United Middle School and Haicheng No. 1 Middle School. In 1984, the name Tongze Middle School was restored.

Protected area: Within the school’s perimeter wall and within 20 meters outside the outer base of the wall.

Construction control zone: A secondary construction control zone extends 50 meters beyond the protected area.
