Creating new highlights along the Bazhang River – A riverside fun fair to be held on the 24th

Once hailed by netizens as the most beautiful embankment in Taiwan, the Bazhang River boasts rich ecology and natural scenery. In April, kilometers of golden rain trees burst into bloom like radiant sunshine, attracting large numbers of visitors. On the 6th, Chiayi Mayor Tu Shing-che said he plansto develop the Bazhang River into a new tourism highlight for the city.

Mayor Tu stated that having a river running through a city is a blessing. The municipal government hopes to make the best use of it with maximum safety, aiming to shape the Bazhang River waterfront into an optimal recreational spot and tourism corridor, attracting more tourists to Chiayi for leisure, sightseeing, and spending, thereby boosting economic activity. In the future, the city government will also continue to collaborate with the Fifth River Management Office to carry out overall planning, creating a relaxing destination suitable for citizens to stroll, play, and enjoy romantic moments.

The Fifth River Management Office said that on October 24th, a “Five Rivers Dance with the River” event will be held at the Junhui Bridge Riverside Park along the Bazhang River. The event will feature a fun fair, a sketching competition, a ground golf tournament, dance and music performances at the street dance festival, kite shows, and other engaging activities. The public is welcome to join and experience the charm of the riverside together.
