These two cities in Japan and South Korea are the most popular foliage spots among Taiwanese travelers, ranking first overall. The rankings for fall foliage cities in Japan are Osaka, Tokyo, Okinawa, Fukuoka, and Sapporo. In South Korea, they are Seoul, Busan, Jeju Island, Gwangju, and Daegu.

According to statistics from travel search engine Skyscanner,the top two most searched Japanese fall foliage spots by Taiwanese travelers are Osaka and Tokyo, accounting for over 75% of all Japan-related searches. For South Korea, Seoul and Busan are the top two foliage destinations, with combined search volumes exceeding 95%. This shows that these four cities are the main hotspots in foliage enthusiasts’ itineraries.

Skyscanner’s findings indicate that major cities with convenient transportation and a wide range of accommodation options are the most favored fall foliage destinations for Taiwanese travelers. Additionally, the recent addition of many budget airline routes to Japan and South Korea has further encouraged people to visit and enjoy the beautiful foreign ‘autumn foliage’ experience.
