It’s that time of year again when the crisp autumn air invites everyone to admire the fall foliage. Many Taiwanese travelers are scrambling to book flights to Japan and South Korea for their famous autumn leaves, but Taiwan’s own autumn scenery is just as stunning. Located in Lugu Township, Nantou, Dashan not only boasts vast expanses of lush greenery, but also transforms into a golden wonderland every fall. The sea of golden ginkgo trees is enough to lift anyone’s spirits.

Ginkgo trees are living fossils in the plant kingdom, growing at altitudes between 1,300 and 1,600 meters. While there are many ginkgo-viewing spots in Taiwan, the "Wuxiu Farm" on Dashan is the most renowned. Its ginkgo plantation spans five hectares, and every October, many photographers secretly make their way up the mountain to carefully capture the breathtaking golden landscapes. As ginkgo leaves flutter down one by one, they create a uniquely romantic memory of autumn’s golden hues.

This year, the treetops have already begun to turn golden. Visitors can walk along the scenic trails to take in the golden ginkgo trees and the misty mountain vistas all in one go. In the future, the ginkgo forest trail will be further developed with additional facilities, including a 325-meter-long pathway, two rest platforms, and 92 meters of connecting trails. This will allow visitors to not only enjoy the scenery but also visit tea plantations for a relaxing tea experience, immersing themselves in the slow life of the mountains.
