"Lonely Gourmet" eats these in Taiwan revealed: Top 3 must-try foods in Yilan

The Japanese drama "The Lonely Gourmet" recently visited Taiwan quietly to film scenes for its fifth season, with shooting taking place in both Taipei and Yilan. With the Taiwan episode’s release date now known, the Yilan County Government has also revealed which Yilan specialties “Wu Lang,” the male lead, tried during his visit.

The county government said that "The Lonely Gourmet" had first scouted filming locations in Taiwan earlier this year, specifically requesting to shoot in Yilan County's Sanxing green onions and the National Center for Traditional Arts. Later, they added Jianguang Hot Spring Park and Jianguang street views, Luodong Railway Station and Luodong street scenes, as well as Zhongshan Park.

This time marks actor Masahiro Motoki's (who plays Wu Lang) first business trip to Taiwan, and fans have long speculated about which Yilan foods he tasted. The county government has now revealed the answers, which are:

1. National Center for Traditional Arts — Yilan Candied Haw
2. National Center for Traditional Arts — Yilan Tea
3. Sanxing Green Onion Pancake

The county government also noted that Masahiro Motoki filmed at a seafood shop in Luodong Night Market, but the store preferred not to be named. Fans can try to spot it when the episode airs."The Lonely Gourmet Season 5" Taiwan Yilan Episode will premiere on October 23, and will later be broadcast in Taiwan. Fans should mark their calendars.
