The Miaoli County Government has launched the retro-style Route 128 bike trail, inviting the public to cycle, explore historical landmarks, and stroll through traditional streets. The Route 128 bike path passes through five townships—Tongxiao, Xihu, Tongluo, Gongguan, and Shitan—covering a total length of 31 kilometers.

Starting from Tongxiao Railway Station, cyclists pass through downtown Tongxiao and enter the mountainous area, where they can connect to the Tongluo Bike Trail. In Gongguan, riders can join the Gongguan Township Bike Trail to explore Golden Town and other sights. The full route features attractions including Majia Village in Tongxiao, Zhongping Industrial Area in Tongluo, the Miaoli Specialty Hall in Gongguan Township, the Taiwan Oil Field Exhibition Hall in Chukuangkeng, and Wenshui Old Street in Shitan. The trail showcases diverse tourism highlights such as natural ecology, historic landmarks, traditional settlements, leisure farms, Golden Town, and flower gardens.
