Kyoto’s No. 1 Specialty Tea Shop – Afternoon Tea Time with Cheesecake

Originally, I had just planned to go to Pierre Hermé at Hotel Ritz-Carlton to buy a rose croissant. I took the bus to Kawaramachi-Marutamachi, and as soon as I got off, I noticed a familiar shop name right next to the bus stop. Taking a closer look, I realized it was MISSLIM Tea Place, Kyoto’s No. 1 tea specialty shop on Tabelog.

I paused for a moment in front of the shop entrance. Perhaps because it had only been open for about an hour, there were only one or two other customers inside. I had long added this place to my must-visit list but never found the chance to come. Since I was already here, I figured why not go in today?

This time, I chose a seat on the second floor, where you can look down into the first floor through the atrium.

The tea menu offered many choices, but since I’m not very knowledgeable about tea, I went straight for the cake set.

The glass teaware showcased the beautiful color of the tea—Kyoto in early summer was perfect for a refreshing iced tea.
