Korean restaurants are opening one after another. Following the success of Samgyeopsal (Korean BBQ with eight flavors), two more Korean-style barbecue eateries will debut in October: Shin Mapo Seagull and Kang Ho-dong BBQ. Then in November, a popular Seoul queue-worthy spot, "Gongneung One-Chicken," will make its debut. All three are well-known and beloved establishments in Korea, and food enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting their openings.

The Korean barbecue chain Shin Mapo Seagull Gugudan is set to launch in Taiwan, with its first branch expected to open at the end of October. The location will be across from CTS in Taipei’s Eastern District. The menu emphasizes authentic Korean flavors, with highlights including grilled egg and pork heart (Seagull meat), which are among the restaurant’s signature dishes.

Shin Mapo Seagull prides itself on offering genuine Korean cuisine. All kitchenware, interior designs, and sauces are directly imported from Korea. The parent company maintains strict standards for meat quality and ingredient freshness, all overseen by its Korean affiliate, Gugudan, which is also the third-largest meat supplier in Korea.

Kang Ho-dong 678 Paikdak Korean BBQ, founded by Korean celebrity Kang Ho-dong, is officially coming to Taiwan. However, its first branch won’t be in Taipei’s Ximending as previously rumored, but rather in Hankou Road, North District, Taichung. The opening date is tentatively set for October 25th, with preparations currently underway.

In addition, Kang Ho-dong 678 Paikdak Korean BBQ announced on its official Facebook page that phone reservations will open starting October 10th for dates after October 25th. Additionally, three priority reservation slots will be released daily at 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM. If you're unable to secure a seat through these methods, walk-in standby is also available.

"Gongneung One-Chicken" (??岔哲谷宫) is a famous queue-worthy restaurant in Seoul, with its first Taiwan branch expected to open in Taipei as early as November. One-chicken is a must-try dish when visiting Seoul. Its sweet and savory broth pairs perfectly with tender chicken, and diners can customize the flavor by adding gochujang (Korean chili paste), minced garlic, or kimchi to the pot. At the end, you can even pour cooked rice into the flavorful broth to make congee.
