Fengjia Night Market is known as a hub for unique snacks, offering a wide variety of special street foods—but have you ever seen high-end teppanyaki here? At first glance, the name “Yi Jiang Shao” might sound like a barbecue or izakaya joint, but it’s actually a teppanyaki specialty stall right in Fengjia Night Market. The stall is specially designed with a strong Japanese aesthetic, making you feel like you’ve stepped into Japan!

Don’t underestimate this teppanyaki—the head chef comes with an impressive background, having previously worked at the Regent Hotel, and only uses premium ingredients such as Australian beef, Norwegian salmon, Hokkaido sashimi-grade scallops, and large grass prawns. These are simply seasoned with rose salt and pepper, then pan-seared to perfection. It's not just a treat for your eyes and taste buds, but also something you can enjoy while exploring the night market!

%The stall is located at the entrance of Section 6 of the night market, and when it’s busy, there’s even a small line of people waiting. This uniquely designed stall has also attracted many visitors to take photos!

%Visitors to “Yi Jiang Shao” are often surprised—it’s nothing like a typical izakaya. The design is carefully crafted, making it look quite different from ordinary stalls. At first, hearing the name, one might expect a Japanese pub, but upon seeing it, you realize it’s actually a teppanyaki specialty shop where you can eat while walking!

%They don’t offer too many choices, but the quality is top-notch, especially the ingredients—grass prawns, Norwegian salmon, and Hokkaido scallops. Every item looks incredibly fresh and delicious!

%Not sure what to get, friend? Here, you can choose either Hai Niu He Sheng (small sliced filet mignon, two large grass prawns, one scallop) or Zheng Hai He Sheng (salmon, two large grass prawns, one scallop) if you don’t eat beef!

%In addition to WeChat payment, they also accept card payments. The stall has also been featured on local food shows, attracting quite a bit of attention!

%The grass prawns are neatly arranged next to the Hokkaido scallops. The prawns are thoughtfully butterflied and deshelled, which will make them even more flavorful during cooking. Plus, the scallops used are sashimi-grade, which really gets our mouths watering~

%You can witness the chef’s amazing culinary skills up close. There’s no need to visit an upscale teppanyaki restaurant—here, you can see the chef’s impressive knife skills and cooking techniques. Turns out, the chef has worked at the Regent Hotel and well-known teppanyaki restaurants before, so it’s no wonder their movements are so skilled and efficient. Premium ingredients require minimal seasoning; just a touch of rose salt and pepper enhances the flavors perfectly!

%Here comes Zheng Hai He Sheng (NT$200)! It comes loaded with two large grass prawns, salmon, and scallops—this bento box is packed to the brim!

%The scallops not only look luxurious in the bento box, but you also get the added bonus of a beautifully presented meal that's both Instagram-worthy and delicious.

%Take the grass prawns, for example—they’re sweet, tender, and have a nice snap to them. Paired with a special house sauce, your mouth is filled with the rich umami of the sea, leaving you licking your fingers in delight. Just look at how immersed she is while eating—clearly, it’s hitting all the right spots!

%Next up is the Hokkaido scallop, which is truly a luxury when pan-seared. Cooking scallops well requires real skill—you have to get it just right, or they’ll shrink too much. These scallops still retain their juiciness inside, with a crispy outside and tender inside, plus a flavor that’s both sweet and savory. Absolutely divine!

%Then there’s the salmon, which is also thoughtfully prepared. The bones and pin bones have been carefully removed, so you can enjoy it worry-free. The salmon is smooth, delicate, and completely free of fishy smell, with a rich umami flavor. The crispy outside and soft inside texture makes it so enjoyable!

%Next, we have the filet mignon, which is cut from the part closest to the tenderloin. It’s pan-seared to medium-rare and can be adjusted to your preferred doneness. Each piece is conveniently cut into bite-sized portions, making it easy to eat!

%You can enjoy both seafood and meat in one go—how luxurious is that? Being able to have such an upscale teppanyaki meal in the night market is truly a little slice of happiness in life!

%If you’re not into waiting around or sitting down for a meal, come try “Yi Jiang Shao”! You can enjoy the rich umami of Zheng Hai He Sheng, or if you love beef, go for Hai Niu He Sheng. We personally love Hai Niu He Sheng because we can’t choose between seafood and beef—we just want it all. Seriously, being able to enjoy such fancy and delicious teppanyaki in the night market is such a treat, especially those Hokkaido scallops—tender, juicy, and bursting with sweet umami. It’s the kind of flavor you’ll miss right after eating it. We highly recommend it—if you’re visiting Fengjia Night Market, give it a try. You won’t regret it, and you’ll be licking your fingers in no time!

%After just one bite, you’ll understand why it’s so popular. The flavors burst in your mouth like fireworks—aaaaahhhh!

%Although it’s a night market stall, the cooking technique is top-notch, almost like what you’d get at a fine-dining teppanyaki restaurant.

%If you want to try the grass prawns, you can also go for Option E: fresh grass prawns, two scallops, and salmon. They look super tempting!

%Because you can eat while strolling, it’s not a problem at all!

%The freshly cooked scallops have a crispy outside and tender inside texture that’s really delicious—juicy and flavorful. You could easily eat a few more!

%The salmon is cut from the belly area, which is naturally richer. When pan-seared, it has a melt-in-your-mouth texture. Even without sauce, it’s full of umami. The crispy outside and soft inside make it so enjoyable!

%The grass prawns have a nice bounce to them, and when paired with a bit of pepper, the flavor becomes even more enticing. Especially the part near the head, which is super flavorful. If you’re a fan of shrimp heads, you can even suck out the juice—the umami just bursts in your mouth!

%The design of “Yi Jiang Shao” continues the strong Japanese vibe, leaving a deep impression and making it truly memorable!

Friends who want teppanyaki but don’t want to sit down for a whole meal, come try “Yi Jiang Shao”! You can enjoy the rich umami of Zheng Hai He Sheng, or if you’re a beef lover, go for Hai Niu He Sheng. We personally love Hai Niu He Sheng because we can’t choose between seafood and beef—we just want it all. So we got both.
