So adorable！The world’s first Snoopy tearoom—watch the dog’s face melt into your tea

Character-themed cafes are all the rage, and in Yufuin, Japan, there’s the world’s first Snoopy tearoom. The entire shop is filled with various Snoopy-themed meals and merchandise. A must-try is the matcha latte, where you can see Snoopy’s face floating on the surface of the tea. As you take each sip of the matcha, his cute little face slowly sinks into the tea—an adorable sight that’s impossible not to love.

Opened in April 2014, the “Snoopy Tearoom” is the world’s first Snoopy-themed tea house. Unlike the Kitty tearoom in Kyoto, which features a predominantly pink and red girly style, this one mainly adopts a deep green color reminiscent of tea, paired with the originally black-and-white Snoopy. The entire restaurant exudes a calm yet lively vibe.

The exterior resembles a Japanese garden. Before entering the tearoom, you’ll see a large Snoopy welcoming guests at the entrance. The tearoom has seating for about 30 people, and every wall is adorned with Peanuts comic illustrations, Snoopy-themed lighting, and occasionally you’ll spot Snoopy peeking out from between the walls—it’s incredibly cute. On the other side of the tearoom, there’s also a shop dedicated to hotel-related merchandise.

A must-order item at the “Snoopy Tearoom” is the matcha latte, available only here. It comes with a three-dimensional Snoopy head made of marshmallows placed inside the teacup. As the drink is served, Snoopy’s face floats and bobs along with the tea. While sipping the matcha, you watch his face slowly melt into the tea—it’s so endearing you won’t want to take a sip right away. There’s also the Snoopy-style egg fried rice: golden egg spread over rice, with Snoopy’s facial features drawn on, and the ear parts made from hamburger patties. It’s so tempting just to look at.
