The new high-speed rail stations open for visits from Nov. 4 & discounted tickets may go on sale at the same time

Taiwan High Speed Rail will open three new stations—Miaoli, Changhua, and Yunlin—by the end of the year. According to an announcement by the railway operator,the new stations will begin operations starting Nov. 4, and from Nov. 4 (Wed) to Nov. 29 (Sun), their non-paid areaswill be open to the public daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (including holidays). Visitors are welcome to come and explore.

The new HSR stations open on Nov. 4/4 ! The paid area inside the gates and platforms will also be open for viewing. For safety reasons,“group entry and exit”reservations are required. Each station has assigned guides for tours, which will take place at 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. during the opening hours. Reservations can be made through the HSR customer service center starting Oct. 26.

In addition, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications’ High Speed Rail Bureau has approved the return of original ticket prices starting December. Currently, HSR has completed rectifications following operational inspections. If HSR successfully obtains the operating license,the newly discounted fares could also go on sale as early as Nov. 4.

The designs of the three new HSR stations differ from one another, not only featuring unique characteristics but also incorporating strong environmental concepts and green building principles. The construction of these new stations will not only facilitate commuting and travel for residents in the three regions but will also boost nearby transportation infrastructure and regional development. Taiwan High Speed Rail stated that each of the new stations is expected to host shops selling local specialty products, allowing travelers to purchase regional souvenirs right at the station.

The newMiaoli Station

features a distinctive architectural style using simple geometric metal frames to convey a lightweight and clean facade design, symbolizing the simple spirit of the Hakka people. It is also equipped with solar panels, making it a green building.Changhua Station

integrates greenery into its structure, with outdoor landscapes designed with flower beds, nurseries, water features, and plantings. The lobby showcases wall pillars shaped like flower petals, and the roof includes skylights inspired by floral motifs, creating a lush, green ambiance.

Located in Huwei Township,the newYunlin Station

adopts a streamlined steel structure design inspired by the characters “cloud” and “forest,” resulting in a dynamic, fluid form. Paired with glass curtain walls, it is an energy-efficient solar-powered building.
