The Taipei International Travel Fair kicks off on November 6th, with Gary Chaw joining in the fun & giving away over NT$15 million in prizes

The 2015 Taipei International Travel Fair is expected to run from November 6th to 9th at Taipei World Trade Center Halls 1 and 3. This year, there will be a total of 1,450 booths, with 950 tourism booths from 60 countries and regions participating. In addition to travel products, meal and accommodation vouchers from various hotels and restaurants, there will also be lucky draw activities, with over NT$15 million worth of prizes expected to be given away. Celebrities such as Gary Chaw from Running Man, Lee Yu-chi, and Teacher Kevin will also be on-site to interact with the public.

To preview the highlights of this year's travel fair in advance, the Taipei International Travel Fair held a pre-show press conference today (October 28th). In addition to the participation of multiple travel agencies and airlines, flight attendants from China Airlines and EVA Air also livened up the atmosphere with a dance performance. This year, the lowest discount on accommodation vouchers at the international travel fair is 80% off, and meal vouchers start at 50% off.

During this year’s travel fair,the U.S. Pavilionwill give away 8 flight tickets, and the first-time exhibitorCalifornia Tourism Bureauis also expected to give away 30 NBA game tickets to one lucky winner;the Korea Tourism Organizationhas invitedGary Chawfrom Running Man to the event to entertain the public.Malaysiais offering a 5-day itinerary starting from NT$12,999, and there are also promotional deals such as Hong KongChristmas 3-day independent travel packages starting from NT$6,888,with Teacher Kevinalso providing information on shopping and makeup in Japan at the Japan Pavilion.▲ Southeast Travel Agency has launched a Minions-themed tour this year to attract family travelers.

The most popular meal vouchers in past years, this year include those from restaurants and hotels such as Hanshin Le Chef, Hanshin ALICE, Hotel Éclat Taipei, The Landis Taipei, Grand Hotel, and Ambassador Hotel, all offering discounts of 60%–70%. In addition, popular autumn and winter items such as hot spring vouchers, afternoon tea vouchers, and fine dining meal vouchers will also be major hot buys at the travel fair.

This year’s travel fair adopts a “one ticket, two halls” entry system. In addition to early bird gifts, there will also be draws for prizes including ANA business class tickets from Taipei to the U.S., EVA global open-jaw tickets, and China Airlines long-haul open-jaw tickets. The total value of the prizes exceeds NT$15 million, setting a new record for the fair.

Organizers said that this year’s travel fair integrates app-based digital technology. Visitors can use their mobile phones for indoor navigation within the exhibition halls and can also access venue maps, event schedules, and other information online. Additionally, a corporate client business meeting was held in advance on November 5 to facilitate corporate procurement. To keep up with digital trends, this year the public can also register online for travel forum events and enter using QR codes.
