Travel Fair Money-Saving Tips: Grab Cheap Accommodation & Meal Vouchers with an Extra 5% Back When Paying via Line Pay

The 2017 Taipei International Travel Fair (ITF) kicked off in full swing today (the 27th). On the first day of the event, the venue was packed with visitors. With 1,650 booths actively attracting customers, the public eager to snag discounts and save money not only had to line up early but could also cut costs through payment methods. This year, the MoGong Electronic Ticketing Service System collaborated with Line Pay for the first time at the travel fair, allowing visitors to explore the event with just a smartphone.

The use of mobile payments is growing daily, and now even travel fairs accept Line Pay. Simply scan a barcode to complete payment. Huang Shaofeng, General Manager of MoGong Network Technology, stated that they had previously partnered with over 100 groups for their electronic ticketing system. Recognizing the business opportunity at the travel fair, they saw it as an ideal scenario for mobile payments and specifically teamed up with Line Pay. They selected around 20 hotels and travel agencies to test the market response.

To encourage customers to pay with Line Pay, the platform is offering special LINE Points rewards. Regardless of the amount spent, simply link any credit card to enjoy a 2% point rebate. Additionally, using the CTBC LINE Pay credit card can earn up to 5% in points. For example, on a NT$10,000 purchase, users can get up to NT$500 in point rewards. Mobile small payments are gradually becoming a trend, and the use of mobile payments at the travel fair received generally positive feedback. Yunlong Group reported that nearly 10% of visitors used Line Pay.

An on-site interview with people using Line Pay revealed scenarios such as:Ms. Qiu spent NT$13,000 on a meal voucher for Royal Pavilion Steakhouse, and Ms. Chen used her LINE Points to buy a “buy one get one free” ticket for the Taipei 101 Observatory from Southeast Travel Agency—all paid for by simply scanning a barcode. Ms. Chen shared that she regularly uses mobile payments, and no credit card offered special deals for purchases at the travel fair. She found the Line Pay rebate offer very appealing.
