Hibiscus Girls dance to the music – 51 performances at Taipei Travel Fair set to dazzle

The 2015 Taipei International Travel Fair was held from November 6 to November 9 at Taipei World Trade Center Halls 1 and 3. This year’s event featured 1,450 booths and exhibitors from tourism organizations across 60 countries and regions. In addition to accessing travel information and purchasing travel products, visitors were also drawn in by the performances and prize-drawing activities held throughout the fair.

This year, the main stage area featured a series of 51 performances, including Korea’s Graffiti Show and the Chita Maidens dance performances. Even Gary, a cast member from the show Running Man, and You Are the Apple of My Eye’s Lee Yu-hsieh, were set to make appearances on November 7. Various exhibition zones also hosted interactive activities such as air hostess dance performances, lucky draws, and food tastings at various times. On November 5, the organizers gave attendees an early preview by featuring performances by the Hibiscus Girls and Japanese samurai troupes during the pre-event press conference.

At this year’s Taipei International Travel Fair, the popular Japan Pavilion occupied 157 booths, making it the largest participating country. The U.S. Pavilion expanded to 36 booths, while Korea and Malaysia each had 20 booths. Hong Kong and Macau had 16 and 13 booths respectively. Together with booths from Central and South American and other countries, visitors were able to access the latest travel information.

The Taipei International Travel Fair adopts a “one ticket, two exhibitions, three zones, two draws” system. Visitors can use their ticket to access both the Taipei International Travel Fair and the concurrent Cross-Strait Taipei Travel Fair, as well as purchase meal vouchers at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 3. In addition to travel packages and meal vouchers sold on-site, ticket holders can also enter lucky draws for both the international and cross-strait travel fairs, with chances to win prizes such as round-trip air tickets to any destination worldwide and 5-day tours to Beijing.
