ITF Travel Fair / Tohoku Dance "Hula Girls" Captivates Audience with Stunning Performance

The 2015 Taipei International Travel Fair commenced today (6th), with the main stage hosting a series of classic performances, totaling 51 in all. The "Hula Girls" show by the Tohoku Wide Area Tourism Promotion Council particularly caught the public's eye. The dancers impressed visitors with their elegant choreography and charming smiles, making it one of the most talked-about acts at the Japan Pavilion this time.

The "Hula Girls" captured the essence of youth and grace, expressing hope and emotion through dance while also showcasing the vitality and energy of Tohoku. Dressed in vibrant costumes, the dancers created a beautiful visual as their skirts swayed with the movements, and their sweet smiles transformed the stage into a lively and dynamic atmosphere. Attendees described it as an astonishing performance during the travel fair.

As for the Tohoku booth at the fair, this year’s edition used the iconic "juhyo" (frost-covered trees) as the main visual theme on stage. Each winter in Japan’s Tohoku region, when temperatures drop below zero and strong, directionally consistent winds blow amid heavy snowfall, the accumulated ice and snow cling to the needles of coniferous trees, forming thick layered icicles—known as "juhyo"—a famous regional spectacle. In addition to displaying this unique sight, the Tohoku booth also offered various local travel packages for visitors to explore.
