30 Coffee-Flavored Dishes Are Served Up at the Table – The 2015 Taiwan Coffee Festival Kicks Off on November 14

The 13th “Taiwan Coffee Festival” kicks off on November 14th. For the first time, coffee businesses from Yunlin and Chiayi are participating together, with a variety of experiential and learning activities being held every Saturday and Sunday in Gukeng Green Tunnel and Huashan areas. To coincide with the Taiwan Coffee Festival, 16 businesses in Huashan Leisure Agriculture Area, Gukeng Township, have introduced nearly 30 coffee-flavored dishes and flavored products, allowing visitors to not only enjoy coffee and scenery on Huashan, but also savor a wide range of coffee-themed meals and local specialties.

Yunlin County Magistrate Lee Chin-yung noted that this year’s coffee festival has been expanded in scale, inviting coffee businesses from Chiayi City and County to take part. A “Yunlin–Chiayi–Chiayi Coffee Market” and “Coffee Carnival” will be held in Gukeng Green Tunnel. Additionally, from 8 AM to 5 PM on December 5th and 6th, a “Highway Gukeng Service Area Coffee Carnival” will take place at the Freeway Bureau’s Gukeng Service Area, featuring many promotional offers on coffee products as well as street performances.

Lin Yuanquan, head of the Cultural Affairs Department of Yunlin County Government, mentioned that during the Taiwan Coffee Festival, the public can take the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle – Douliu-Gukeng Line to visit all event venues, with various bundled ticket discounts available for tourists to take advantage of.
