The Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum will open on December 28. The museum and the high-speed rail operator have jointly launchedthe "Meet the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum" paint-themed train, which will depart from Taipei Station at 12 noon on the 10th. The front of the train is designed with the "Blue-and-white Dragon Motif Celestial Globe Vase," set to be exhibited at the Southern Branch, in mind. Both the exterior and the interior storage spaces feature patterns inspired by cultural relics. Taiwan High Speed Rail Chairman Liu Wei-chi stated,the timetable for the paint-themed train will be published on the THSR official website, and those wishing to experience it are welcome to select a departure time to ride.

The "Meet the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum" high-speed rail paint-themed train made its debut departure at 12 noon on the 10th, with Deputy Premier of the Executive Yuan Chang San-cheng, Director of the National Palace Museum Feng Ming-chu, and Chairman of Taiwan High Speed Rail Liu Wei-chi all attending the launch. The paint design is inspired by the Ming Dynasty Yongle-era"Blue-and-white Dragon Motif Celestial Globe Vase"set to be displayed at the Southern Branch. National Palace Museum Director Feng Ming-chu noted that there were initially multiple design options for the paint job, but the blue-and-white dragon motif was ultimately chosen for its superior imagery and meaning.The sides of the train’s front feature "three-clawed dragons," while the body extends with blue-and-white decorative patterns,giving the train an elegant and noble appearance.

Taiwan High Speed Rail Chairman Liu Wei-chi also mentioned that the timetable for the paint-themed train in collaboration with the National Palace Museum will be released on the THSR official website. Currently, one departure per day is planned. THSR has also introduced travel packages in partnership with the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum. With the upcoming opening of the Southern Branch, the public is welcome to take the high-speed rail to experience the culture and heritage of Chiayi.
