The Pescadores Far Eastern Airlines Marathon to Set Sail on the 15th – 60 Flight Attendants to Cheer as Cheerleaders

The 2015 Pescadores Far Eastern Airlines Marathon will officially kick off on November 15. This year’s event is co-hosted for the first time by the Penghu County Government and Far Eastern Air Transport, with over 3,000 participants having registered, including more than 1,200 from Taiwan who have made the trip specifically to compete in Penghu. The marathon has also introduced a first-ever collaboration, featuring both flight attendants and models taking part in the race.

Far Eastern Air Transport stated that more than 60 flight attendants will cheer on runners along the route, while Far Eastern flight attendants and Eelin Models will also serve as pacers at the starting gun in the early morning. Additionally, a special relay PK competition for flight attendants and models has been organized to add excitement to the event. This year, 149 international runners from countries such as the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Kenya, South Africa, and Japan will also participate, setting a new record for Penghu.

Far Eastern also noted that this year’s course has not only received international certification but will also use chip timing. In light of the high autumn temperatures, hydration stations will be set up every 2.5 kilometers along the route, with ample supplies provided. Three medical stations and mobile ambulance patrols will also be in place to ensure runner safety, making the overall event standards surpass those required by international sports federations. On the evening of the 14th, a “Marathon Night” will be held at the Historic Park, featuring dance performances by flight attendants, local Penghu performance groups, and appearances by celebrities such as Lee Chien-na, kicking off the marathon festivities.
