At dawn, the “lingering flowing clouds” appear over Hehuan Mountain – an unexpected delight in the cold wind

A netizen named Jeff recently took photos on Hehuan Mountain and unexpectedly captured an extremely enchanting landscape photo. With the azure sky and snow-white clouds, it looked like a beautiful ink painting, leaving many people amazed at how gorgeous it was. Jeff said,“I was really lucky with this photo shoot because cloud formations change every day. This kind of special cloud might only appear a few times a year – it’s a rare experience in life.”

In an interview with ETtoday EBC News Cloud, Jeff revealed that he had specifically carried his camera equipment to the Hehuan Mountain observation deck to wait for the sea of clouds. Many people predicted there was a high chance of it appearing,“It was cold from night until dawn, and even staying inside the car, you had to endure the cold wind constantly blowing through the gaps in the windows”, but unfortunately, after waiting all night, they didn’t get to see it in the end; however, unexpectedly, the next day after shooting the sunrise,they suddenly discovered these lingering flowing clouds, which looked like a fairyland. With just a few seconds’ window to shoot, “it’s a view that you can’t plan for but only come across by chance.”

Jeff said that he is an amateur photographer with over ten years of experience taking digital photos and enjoys using a camera to capture all kinds of beautiful things. He particularly revealed, “I use a rather special camera,which uses a Foveon Xsensor, quite different from regular DSLRs. Although it’s unconventional, it can capture more details of the clouds.”

It is understood that the Hehuan Mountain Scenic Area is located at the border between Hualien County and Nantou County, with an altitude of about 2,300–3,400 meters and an area of 457 hectares. It is the highest national forest recreation area in Taiwan. In addition,autumn and winter are the seasons when the sea of clouds is most likely to appear on Hehuan Mountain, often presenting magnificent clouds and mist swirling around the mountain peaks – one of the most beloved views for visitors to capture. The trails to Hehuan East Peak, Jian Mountain, Main Peak, and Shimen Mountain within the park are all great spots for sightseeing.
