That's it, we're out of here. 22 hotels and homestays pull out of the tourism bureau’s accommodation discount campaign

The domestic travel subsidy launched by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications’ Tourism Bureau to boost consumer spending has been plagued by issues since yesterday. First, the system crash drew public ire, and now it’s been reported that 22 out of 2,248 accommodation providers will withdraw from the subsidy list — including Yilan’s Lucheng Grand Formosa Hotel, which pulled out on the 19th.
The Tourism Bureau confirmed that before the campaign started on the 20th, 22 businesses had withdrawn from the accommodation subsidy scheme. So far, the known withdrawals include one from Tunmao Peace Hotel and four from Kiwi Express Inn chain. The Bureau also noted that since the campaign launch, due to strong public response, nearly 150 additional businesses have joined — indicating that most operators believe the campaign can bring business opportunities.
