New all-you-can-eat restaurant in Taichung for just 300 TWD? Plus the Instagram-favorite "ball pit bathtub"

Taichung is truly a battleground for gourmet delights!“Canoya” is located in the Yizhong shopping district. After its soft opening in mid-October, it caused quite a stir on Instagram. The café brings together all the elements beloved by social media influencers—like a grassy picnic area, macaron-colored diamond walls, large studio lights, and even a bathtub filled with colorful plastic balls. The entire restaurant feels like a dedicated photo studio.

From the exterior, the macaron-colored diamond geometric walls are particularly striking, and the addition of glass windows enhances the luxurious feel. The most popular dining spot inside is the specially sectioned green carpet area, which offers the ambiance of an outdoor picnic. Another highlight is undoubtedly the bathtub filled with colorful plastic balls—a place where girls can’t help but stay and enjoy its therapeutic vibe!“All of these ideas came from our employees aged 18 to 20,” says store manager Liu with a smile.

Manager Liu originally ran a hot pot restaurant in Taichung, but due to various reasons, he had to close it down. However, he had a strong bond with his young staff and didn’t want to let them go. Later, by chance, he reopened as Canoya Restaurant.“Originally, the restaurant’s decor only included the basic necessities for a dining space. These creative designs were all suggestions from our young staff,” Manager Liu explained.

Aside from being photogenic, the food is definitely a highlight. There are currently six main course options: cheddar cheese pork rice, French beef bourguignon rice, Thai larb pork pasta, chef’s curry, Italian pizza, and vegetable lasagna, all priced at NT$288; the chef’s tomahawk pork and sous-vide chicken steak are NT$388. Additionally, all diners can enjoy unlimited desserts, drinks, side dishes, fried foods, and salad bar items—a very generous deal.

The manager mentioned that to accommodate the constant flow of visitors to the Yizhong shopping district even late at night, they plan to extend business hours. The kitchen will stop serving meals after 10 PM, but drinks will still be available until the midnight closing time.
