New Year's Holiday Taipei–Yilan Cruise-Style Shuttle Bus Pre-Sale Tickets Go on Sale December 1

To alleviate traffic congestion on National Freeway No. 5 and in the Yilan area, the Directorate General of Highways, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, has been pilotingcruise-style shuttle busesduring consecutive holiday periods since 2015. After reviewing and incorporating passenger suggestions to adjust routes and attractions, the service will continueduring the 2016 New Year's holiday period, with pre-sale tickets going on sale December 1, 2015.
A total of four bus companies (Kuo-Kuang Motor Transport, Capital Bus, Kamalan Bus, and Greater Taipei Bus) are participating in the pilot program for this cruise-style shuttle bus service. Tickets are sold via pre-sale, with Kuo-Kuang Motor Transport handling sales on behalf of the others.Pre-sale tickets go on sale December 1, 2015. Tickets can be purchased at FamilyMart, Hi-Life, and 7-Eleven convenience stores, or at any Kuo-Kuang Motor Transport ticket window across Taiwan.
The cruise-style shuttle buses provide convenient transport between Taipei and popular tourist attractions in Yilan. Kuo-Kuang Motor Transport routes include Taipei Station–Lanyang Museum, Yuanshan Transfer–Lanyang Museum, Taipei Station–National Center for Traditional Arts, and Yuanshan Transfer–National Center for Traditional Arts. Capital Bus offers the City Hall Transfer–National Center for Traditional Arts route. Kamalan Bus operates the Banqiao Transfer–King Car Distillery route, while Greater Taipei Bus serves the Dapinglin–Plum Blossom Lake route. The Directorate General of Highways has also coordinated with Lanyang Museum and the National Center for Traditional Arts to offer ticket and shopping discounts for passengers presenting cruise-style shuttle bus stubs during the pilot period.
