The negative ion level exceeds 9,000 — “Zhushan Ruilong Waterfall” set to reopen in Lunar New Year

Originally named Shanpingding Waterfall, Zhushan Ruilong Waterfall is located inland in Taiwan: Zhushan Township, Nantou County, and has long been known as the “No. 1 Beauty of Zhushan.” As the final waterfall along the Jiachehliau Stream, Ruilong Waterfall boasts stunning scenery and a majestic presence, offering a dreamlike experience that feels like a hidden paradise — yet it has remained closed to the public for a long time.

Nantou County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen said: “Zhushan Ruilong Waterfall is a truly beautiful place,with negative ion levels as high as over 9,000,but two years ago the trail was burned down, and this scenic spot that I’ve poured so much effort into had to close. I’ve always felt it’s a real pity.”

Lin Ming-chen stated that since becoming county magistrate, he has consistently urged county government colleagues to expedite the restoration of the park.The trails, pavilions, restrooms, and other public facilities have all been completed. Now, only the suspended viewing platform remains.He hopes it can be finished before Lunar New Year, allowing the park to reopen and giving more people the chance to experience the magnificent beauty of the waterfall and valley firsthand.
