With the advancement of digital technology, keen travelers may increasingly notice its presence everywhere during their journeys — just look at the light shows at major attractions in Sydney that often draw tens of thousands of spectators. This winter, if you’re planning to spend Christmas in New York, be sure not to miss the Luminaries installation at Winter Park, which brings a unique atmosphere to the city.

According to gothamist.com,this large-scale installation is set beneath the sponge-like ceiling of the atrium, using around 650 LED lights to create stunning visual effects. Themed light shows take place every two hours, featuring themes such as “Snowfall,” “Christmas Tree,” “Ribbon,” “Firecrackers,” “Aurora,” and more. Visitors can even make a wish under the lights. The organizers hope this wonderful experience will become an annual winter tradition.
The installation is free to view, running from December 2 through January 10, 2016, and is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
