Taiwan’s Largest Love God Appears on Qigu Salt Mountain – To celebrate Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and Valentine’s Day, Qigu Salt Mountain has created a giant Love God installation artwork on its main hilltop. With over NT$3 million invested to resurface the mountain in white salt and give it a fresh new look, alongside a series of Love God-themed activities and special offers, it’s now a happiness-filled destination.

Qigu Salt Mountain is a well-known spot for attracting good fortune and romance. This year, a chubby, pure-white Love God angel, standing 7 meters long and 6.6 meters tall, has been crafted lying on the hill, resting her chin on her hands as she gazes at visitors. Her wings’ feathers flutter in the wind, and in this adorable form, she spreads messages of love. Paired with the freshly salted and newly adorned mountain, it creates the theme “Fate (Salt) Meets Love God, Happiness Spreads (Salt),” which will be exhibited until the end of March 2016.

Taiwan Salt stated that not only is the Love God endearing in appearance, but her wings are also made from eco-friendly stone paper, layered piece by piece. When the wind blows, they flutter like real feathers—lifelike, spreading the message of environmental care while also possessing artistic value.

Starting now, the first wave of Love God-themed events has launched, including “Love Amidst the Salt,” where visitors can write their New Year’s wishes on feather cards at the “Yuan House,” as well as discounts on coffee and ice cream under the “Double Discount Delight” promotion. There are even more surprises on-site to ensure everyone welcomes the New Year with joy.

Admission to Qigu Salt Mountain is free, with only a small cleaning fee collected, which can be used as credit for purchases within the park.
