"Christmas Village" Near the Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Wanjin, Pingtung — Resident Decorations Even More Spectacular Than the Light Show

With just three days left until Christmas, the Pingtung Wanjin Christmas Season also has only three days remaining. The 2015 Wanjin Christmas Season light show, which is held every weekend, will present its final performance of the year on the evening of the 24th. Travelers should seize the opportunity to attend. Beyond the light show, the entire area around the Our Lady of the Rosary Church has transformed into a Christmas village, with residents decorating their homes — a truly worthwhile sight.

The 2015 Wanjin Christmas Season light show attracts visitors from all over every year. Lasting ten minutes, this year’s show opens with Genesis, then takes audiences through the four seasons to showcase Pingtung’s highlights — summer features the ginger lily season and the Harvest Festival; autumn and winter highlight the Sihchu Hot Springs and the Hakka "Cannon Attack" game. It then transitions into Pingtung’s warm Christmas season, transforming the Our Lady of the Rosary Shrine into a fantasy island and candy gift wonderland.

In addition to the Wanjin light show, the Pingtung County Tourism Bureau also recommends visiting nearby residences. Visitors can admire the nativity scenes and Christmas lights set up by local Catholic families at their doorsteps. Each household has its own unique design, making the area around the Our Lady of the Rosary Church feel like a small Christmas village — one of the most festive Christmas spots in Taiwan.
