Tiny hills and little potted grass plants—this isn’t clay art, but rather one-of-a-kind dessert designs that have made 《Gengzhe Youqi Tian》(Everyone Deserves Sweetness), which has only been open for three months, a must-try spot on many foodies’ lists. The small shop offers a variety of whimsical cakes, each crafted by the owner’s skilled hands, leaving customers unable to resist calling them super adorable.

This bright yellow little shop gives off a warm vibe, tucked away in an alleyway. Its name “Gengzhe Youqi Tian” is a play on the phrase “Gengzhe Youqi Tian” (Farmers Have Their Land), and its signature dessert “Hill” is inspired by Taiwan’s Central Mountain Range. The marshmallow is coated with matcha mousse, and biting into it reveals a crispy chocolate texture inside, while the chocolate base at the bottom symbolizes the image of the earth, echoing a sense of connection to Taiwan’s land.

The owner previously worked in the food and beverage industry and now started her own business. With her extensive experience in making macarons, she has created many new products with playful designs—like carrots, little black charcoal figures, and big-eyed characters, all super cute. For example, “Eat Dirt” is a plant-shaped macaron paired with a tiramisu base, plus a coffee liqueur stick inserted on top. Originally, these desserts were designed to attract kids, but they’ve unexpectedly become therapeutic treats for adults.

From pastry chefs and servers to cleaners and even the content creator, the owner does it all by herself. To ensure customers don’t leave empty-handed, the shop offers small daily batches of its 13 flavors of cakes, including sea salt caramel tarts and crispy chocolate banana rolls. There’s a minimum spend of NT$100 for dine-in, and desserts can also be taken away. Customized birthday cakes are available too—if you want to give the birthday star a heartwarming surprise, why not gift them a whole hill?
