As the number of travelers to Japan increases year by year, the demand for accommodation has surged, with new hotels opening one after another across the country. GRIDS, a well-known Japanese youth hostel chain, has identified Asakusabashi as an emerging hotspot for Tokyo tourism and has therefore created an upgraded version of its youth hostel, “GRIDS Tokyo Asakusabashi.” Staying here costs just ¥670 per night, and it officially opened on November 1, with bookings now open.

Located next to Akihabara, Asakusabashi is a paradise for craft enthusiasts and is known as the “town of craftsmanship.” It attracts many fans of miscellaneous goods, handmade items, and even stationery lovers looking for treasures. In recent years, it has become increasingly popular among overseas visitors, making it a rising tourist destination in Tokyo.

“GRIDS Tokyo Asakusabashi” is about 10 stories high and combines the features of a youth hostel and a regular hotel, offering a total of seven room types. To better accommodate different types of group travelers such as families and friends, unlike the East Japan Bridge branch where a dormitory room may have over 20 bunk beds, the Asakusabashi branch limits each dormitory room to a maximum of six bunk beds. It also provides options such as four-person rooms, double rooms with one large bed, and other configurations. With the rise in solo female travelers, GRIDS Asakusabashi has thoughtfully introduced a women-only floor, accessible only via card entry for added security.
