Taichung's unmanned self-service hotel "Dream Mansion" has newly opened, offering free Shanghai Tang-style commemorative photos

Following the craze caused by Taiwan’s first unmanned self-service Queshi Hotel, the brand-new "Dream Mansion" from Dunqian International Smart Hotel Group officially opened today (the 30th). Themed around the classic Shanghai of old, the hotel also adopts a self-service operation model, creating a new image that blends modern trends with retro charm.

The stone-patterned floor, nostalgic fireplace, and overhead chandeliers in the lobby all speak to the luxury and grandeur of old Shanghai, making guests feel as if they’ve stepped back into 1930s Shanghai. However, with technological advancements, the bustling nightlife of Shanghai now requires no clerks — everything here is handled via self-service. The rooms feature understated gray tones, complemented by black and white marble and pearwood textures, exuding a calm and elegant vibe that allows guests to sleep peacefully.

The "Dream Mansion" hotel has only 20 guest rooms in total — 14 quadruple rooms and 6 double rooms. During the trial operation period, the price for a standard double room starts at NT$1,780 on weekdays. The official management also introduced the popular traveler photo booth S-PINK into the hotel in 2017. Guests can pick up wooden signs and transform into the leading characters of a Shanghai romance story, taking instant photos on-site to commemorate their stay and take home free souvenirs.
