Clearing post-New Year holiday crowds: High-speed rail adds 2 northbound all-standing trains

On the final day of the New Year’s Day holiday, public transport systems saw a surge of passengers heading back north. The high-speed rail announced that on the 3rd, it will add one all-station-stop, all-standing northbound train each from Zuoying Station and Tainan Station.

The high-speed rail stated that the additional services are as follows: Train No. 8800 will depart from Zuoying Station at 14:12 and arrive at Taipei Station at 16:42. Northbound Train No. 8802 will depart from Tainan Station at 19:29 and arrive at Taipei Station at 21:42.

In addition, to accommodate the returning crowds at the newly added three stations, starting from 12:00 noon on the 3rd until the end of service, all trains stopping at Miaoli, Changhua, and Yunlin will arrive at these newly opened stations 30 seconds earlier than scheduled, allowing passengers more time to board and alight.
