10 floors spanning 16 decks—the world’s longest water slide, “The Ultimate Abyss”!

According to the website CaribJournal, the world-renowned luxury cruise line Royal Caribbean has unveiled concept art for the world’s tallest waterslide—ever wonder how high?10Ten floors tall. And yes, this jaw-dropping feature will be on one of their own ships.

Dubbed“The Ultimate Abyss,” the slide will be found aboard the “Harmony of the Seas,”spanning 16 decks and stretching approximately 65 meters in total length. This 10-floor-high slide surpasses previous experiences, launching from a glass platform. Riders can enjoy a thrilling spin downward at speeds of up to 14.5 km/h (9 mph), all set to music.

The unveiling of the world’s tallest cruise ship waterslide sparked widespread discussion. In fact, the Harmony of the Seas itself is quite a sight to behold: it’s the third in Royal Caribbean’s Oasis-class series of mega cruise ships, launched between April and May this year, weighing 227,000 tons and featuring 16 decks. It’s designed to carry an estimated 5,479 passengers—about 100 more than its two Oasis-class predecessors.
