Alishan Forest Railway Adds Extra Trains for Spring Festival   Ticket Booking Opens at 6 AM on Jan 22

To effectively manage passenger flow during the Spring Festival holiday, the Alishan Forest Railway’s main line (between Chiayi and Fenchihu) will operate one additional round-trip train between Chiayi and Fenchihu from Feb 8 to Feb 12. Including the originally scheduled weekend services, there will be two round-trip trains daily,Ticket booking opens at 6 AM on Jan 22. Additional services on the Alishan Forest Recreation Area branch line and the Sunrise Train will be added flexibly based on passenger demand.

The Alishan Forest Railway’s operating schedule for the Spring Festival holiday period (Feb 6 to Feb 14) is as follows:
Chiayi to Fenchihu: 09:00, 10:00
Fenchihu to Chiayi: 14:00, 15:00

The Taiwan Railways Administration stated that tickets for the Spring Festival (Feb 6 to Feb 14) holiday period will be available for online booking starting at 6 AM on Jan 22, and can be reserved up to Feb 14. Tickets can be booked on the Alishan Forest Railway online booking platform. After booking, passengers must complete ticket purchase or payment within two days of booking at any computerized ticketing station of the Taiwan Railways Administration or the Alishan Forest Railway (Chiayi, Beimen, Fenchihu, Alishan), or complete payment on the payment website. Those who pay online must collect their tickets in person at the designated pick-up locations no later than 30 minutes before departure.

In addition, extra Chiayi to Duli Mountain shuttle trains will be added on Feb 7 and Feb 14. These shuttle trains are non-reserved seating and not available for online booking; tickets must be purchased on-site for boarding.
