The popular cherry blossom spot in Taichung, "Dakeng Zhuoshui Lane Cherry Blossom Grove," has seen its scenery deteriorate due to both human and natural factors. The owner decided to close the grove for three full years starting in 2016 to allow it to fully recover and will no longer allow public entry for cherry blossom viewing this season.

The cherry blossom grove in Dakeng Zhuoshui Lane is located on private land. The owner planted over 5,000 Somei Yoshino cherry trees across a vast area of 6 hectares and opened it to the public for free starting in 2012.

However, as the spot became increasingly popular, the growing number of visitors and vehicles every year caused the cherry grove to lose its natural beauty. As a result, the owner decided to implement a full recovery plan, closing the grove for at least three years. Starting in 2016, public entry for cherry blossom viewing has been prohibited. Visitors planning to see the blossoms this year should take note.
