In recent years, many adorable cartoon-themed restaurants have sprung up like mushrooms. They’re loved not only by children but also by adults, often to the point where tables are hard to come by—you may need to book over a month in advance. ETtoday Eastday Travel Cloud has compiled a list of 11 cartoon-themed restaurants. Find some time soon and go try them out!
1. Pudding Dog Themed Restaurant
This Pudding Dog restaurant in Taiwan, which just opened on January 19 this year, is directly operated by Japan’s San-X Corporation, the creators of the characters. Pudding Dog and his friends can be seen everywhere, including a special kimono-designed Pudding Dog made for Taiwan. Most of the menu items are the same as those at the Japanese locations, with the exception of a limited-edition matcha pudding available only at the Taiwan branch.

2. Rilakkuma Café (Lalalo Bear Café)
Opened last October, Rilakkuma Café was founded by Chen Hongzhou, who previously ran an interior design firm, as a restaurant for his mother. It’s also the first officially licensed outlet. Many of the goods and dishes were developed and designed in-house.

3. KUMA CAFÉ (Kumamon Bear Café)
Located near Zhongshan Station, the Kumamon Café features a giant Kumamon plush toy at the entrance, dressed in a white sleeveless top, shorts, and blue-and-white slippers—super on-brand. The café only serves desserts and drinks, so be sure to make a reservation if you want to eat, as walk-ins are not accommodated.

The Secret Garden of Tsukuppi Light Bites & Coffee operates on a semi-self-service basis, does not charge a service fee, has a minimum spend of NT$200, and allows a two-hour dining time. Menu items include appetizers like fries and chicken nuggets, as well as pasta, sandwiches, pizza, and pancakes.

8. Charlie Brown Café Taiwan (Charlie Brown Café)
Charlie Brown Café currently has stores in Kaohsiung and Hsinchu. The third location has been confirmed to open in Taichung, near the Chaoma Bus Transfer Station and next to Qiu Hong Valley Plaza. Over the next three years, the café plans to expand to 10 branches across Taiwan, with each featuring a unique story theme and incorporating local specialties. For example, the Kaohsiung Arena branch will have an “original comic style,” the Hsinchu Far Eastern branch will adopt an “American sports theme,” and the Taichung branch will follow a “travel around the world theme.”
