Capitalizing on the trend, a nearby café posted a sign at its entrance reading “Husband Drop-Off,” which many customers found amusing and came especially to take photos.

The opening of Mitsui Outlet Park in Linkou has also boosted business for nearby shops. The local café “Mr. Coffee” responded to the trend by posting bilingual signs in Chinese and English reading “Husband Drop-Off,” inviting moms out shopping to leave their husbands at the café for coffee. Whether the sign has actually helped boost sales or not, the café reported that its revenue increased by about 20% in just two days after the outlet park’s opening.

Some visitors came especially to take photos, while others actually wanted to “drop off” their husbands at the shop. Regardless of whether the signage helped with sales, the café’s fun and witty message not only taps into one of today’s hottest consumer topics but also adds a touch of humor to daily life.
