Another hidden gem for cherry blossom viewing: the mountain cherry blossoms in Baishan National Forest Recreation Area have begun to bloom, painting the park in vibrant hues.Currently, around 50% of the blossoms are open. The Dongshi Forest District Office reports that late January to early February is the optimal period for cherry blossom viewing—don’t miss your chance to head into the park and enjoy the blooms, Up！

Baishan National Forest Recreation Area, near the Guguan Hot Springs Scenic Area, is one of Central Taiwan’s best spots for cherry blossom viewing. The park is home to over a thousand mountain cherry trees,and it’s common to spot adorable species such as the Taiwan yuhina and the Formosan blue magpie perched on branches.These friendly little birds serve as the park’s best ambassadors. When the flowers are in full bloom, flocks of mountain birds can be seen sipping nectar among the blossoms, creating a lively scene that draws many visitors to stop and admire.This period also marks the best time for birdwatching in the park.。

Additionally, during the Lunar New Year holiday period, the park will implement a visitor cap, allowing no more than 1,500 visitors per day. It is recommended that visitors avoid peak hours. Also,from February 9th to 12th, a free shuttle service will be provided,transporting visitors from the toll station parking lot to the Visitor Service Center—make good use of it.
