Travel Alert for the Holiday Season: All Scenic Areas Under Yilan County Government Jurisdiction Will Be Closed on New Year’s Eve

With this year’s 9-day Spring Festival holiday, many people are planning trips, but it’s important to pay attention to attraction opening hours.The Yilan County Government has announced that all scenic areas under its jurisdiction will be closed on New Year’s Eve (7th), and the National Center for Traditional Arts will only remain open until noon. Those planning to travel on New Year’s Eve should check the opening times of scenic spots in advance.

The Yilan County Government pointed out that the Toucheng Coastal Forest Park (formerly Toucheng Beach), Wufengqi Scenic Area, Yilan Tourism Service Center, Longtan Lake Scenic Area, Dongshan River Water Park (Hand-in-Hand Carnival event), Wulikeng Scenic Area, Qingshui Geothermal Area, Meihua Lake Scenic Area, and Nanao Farm will all be closed on New Year’s Eve, reopening uniformly on the first day of the Lunar New Year (8th).

The Lanyang Museum, Luodong Cultural Factory, Yilan Literature Museum, Luodong Forestry Culture Park, and Yilan Governing Authority Memorial Hall will all be closed on both New Year’s Eve and the first day of the Lunar New Year. Although the Yilan Art Museum is also closed on New Year’s Eve, it will open to the public from 8:30 PM to midnight on the 7th in conjunction with Yilan’s “Happy Yilan New Year” event. Meanwhile, the Taiwan Drama Museum, County History Museum, and Performing Arts Center will all be closed throughout the Spring Festival period.

The Taipingshan National Forest Recreation Area will be closed for one day on New Year’s Eve. Starting from the 6th, overnight lodging will no longer be available. From the 8th to the 12th, the park will extend its opening hours, opening at 4:00 AM and closing at 8:00 PM. A total visitor capacity limit will also be implemented—once 3,000 visitors have entered, the park will temporarily stop admitting more.
