The cherry blossom season is arriving slightly earlier than usual this year. The Lunar New Year holiday happens to coincide with the best time to view the blossoms, which will be in full bloom for about a month.The Taipei City Government’s Department of Urban Development has recommended 24 cherry blossom and prayer trails.You can go out with family and friends during the Spring Festival, stroll along the trails, and make new year wishes.

According to the Department of Urban Development,one of the recently popular spots, Pingjing Street in Shilin District,is lined with clusters of cherry trees, among whichthe mountain cherry blossoms along the “Bamboo Grove Trail” are in full bloom,creating a stunning view of pink and white cherry blossoms that fill your sight as you walk into the trail, complemented by blue skies and white clouds.

In addition,the cherry blossom forest in Beitou District usually begins blooming around early February.It is recommended that visitorstake the “Shangqing Temple Trail” downhill,which connects various scenic spots for cherry blossom viewing, or head tothe “Fengwei Trail,”where the surrounding hills are covered in a sea of pink cherry blossoms, making it a favorite among tourists.

Moreover,in Muzha Maokong, Xinyi District’s “Hu Mountain Circular Trail,” and Neihu District’s “Bishan Rock Trail,”you can find mountain cherry, double-petal cherry, and Yoshino cherry blossoms. The crimson cherry blossoms and the purple-hued Baishihu Suspension Bridge create a picturesque scene—not only can you enjoy the blossoms, but also take a stroll across the bridge.
