Pizza Factory is an affordable pizza chain from Taichung. Its Kaohsiung branch has been open for over a year, yet we’ve passed this road countless times without noticing this pizza shop. Specializing in budget-friendly pizzas, it seems to be especially popular among younger crowds, with many online reviews and recommendations. We couldn’t wait to give it a try.

The interior features an industrial maritime design, and you can even spot signs that say “Safety First, Quality Supreme.” It’s surprising to see such a crowd on a weekday — a good sign that the food must be delicious. We’re definitely looking forward to trying it.

The front of the menu features pizzas and pasta options, with a wide variety of flavors all under NT$300. For an additional NT$69, you can upgrade to a set meal that includes salad, soup, dessert, and bread.

The back of the menu includes risotto, snacks, and drinks. A drink comes with every main dish ordered.

The salad is seasoned with a fruity yogurt dressing, and the soup has a nice earthy mushroom aroma — quite tasty.

Grilled sliced baguette served with the shop’s signature dipping sauce.

The sauce has a savory umami flavor with mushroom bits — smooth, salty, and delicious with the bread.

Stir-fried Garlic Spicy Squid & Cuttlefish – NT$190
This pasta is stir-fried with squid ink, which turns your mouth black while eating. The shop says it’s meant to be fun, though I imagine couples on dates might hesitate to order it — could ruin the mood. But the flavor is good, with the rich taste of squid ink and garlic coming through nicely.

Spanish Chorizo Lugula Risotto – NT$220
Lugula is arugula, a nutrient-rich leafy green that’s become quite popular lately. Its unique flavor pairs well with the risotto. The dish also includes some mushrooms and chorizo. All the ingredients come together harmoniously — creamy, smooth, with a nice bite to the rice. Very enjoyable.

Signature Spicy-Sour Chicken Wings – NT$90
These wings are prepared in a Thai-style, marinated, fried, and then seasoned. They’re sweet, sour, and super finger-licking good — incredibly flavorful. A must-order.

Mozzarella Margherita Queen – NT$240
Pizza is the shop’s specialty, made using Neapolitan-style techniques. The thin, soft crust is a standout feature, different from the thick crusts we’re used to — a hallmark of Southern Italian pizza.

The classic Margherita pizza is made with tomato, basil, and mozzarella. The crust is crispy and flavorful, loaded with melted cheese that’s incredibly satisfying.

Bologna Meat Sauce Yogurt Pie Big Star – NT$210
Shaped like a five-pointed star, this pie is stuffed with yogurt, cheese, Bologna meat sauce, and cauliflower. It’s even been given the fun name “Pie Big Star.”

The crust is just as crispy, but the inside is soft and chewy with a nice wheat aroma. The yogurt isn’t as milky as I expected, but it complements the tomato Bologna sauce very well.

Szechuan-Style Kung Pao Chicken – NT$240
The Chinese-flavored dishes were developed to appeal to a wider age range, so more people can enjoy the charm of thin-crust pizza while enjoying a family-friendly meal. It’s unexpectedly popular.

The crust has a savory base sauce, topped with chicken chunks, peanuts, and chili. This Chinese flavor totally won us over. For those who aren’t big on cheese, this is a great option to try.

Blue Bubble Yogurt Drink – NT$90, Hot Fresh Milk Tea – NT$80
The Blue Bubble Yogurt is a sparkling drink, tasting similar to soda. The fresh milk tea is sweet and creamy, with a stronger milk flavor than tea.

At first, we worried the cheese on the pizza might be too rich, but it wasn’t. Even someone like me, who doesn’t usually go for strong cheese, enjoyed it. The thin-crust pizza has a nice baked aroma. While the Chinese-inspired flavors are bold, they’re surprisingly delicious. At these affordable prices, the tasty thin-crust pizzas are truly a great value — highly recommended.
