Last updated 2026-09-24 — When it comes to Thai hot pot in Kaohsiung, many people think of Silver Spoon first. From a single outlet in the early days to now having three branches in Kaohsiung. We’ve visited Silver Spoon several times, and have even featured it in our food reviews twice. It’s been over a year since our last visit, and we heard that the dining concept at the Wufu branch has changed. Previously, it was only all-you-can-eat hot pot, but now you can enjoy all-you-can-eat Thai dishes as well — and this option is only available at the Wufu branch. Naturally, we quickly gathered some friends to come try it out.

When it comes to Thai hot pot in Kaohsiung, many people think of Silver Spoon first.

Located on the 3rd floor of Grand Unified Wufu Department Store, the entrance is right to your left as you step off the elevator. The layout here hasn’t changed much from our previous visit — there are round tables, square tables, and sofa seating, accommodating quite a large number of guests.

As an all-you-can-eat restaurant, there’s naturally a drink bar offering a wide selection — juices, slushies, coffee, milk tea, and more.

On the side, there’s also unlimited bottled soda and cola, which I don’t recall being available during our last visit.

Ice cream is also available for guests to enjoy as much as they like, with five flavors: Swiss chocolate, taro, strawberry, vanilla, and mango.

There are four choices of hot pot broth: Thai spicy hot pot, green curry sauce pot, lemongrass pot, and premium spicy hot pot. You can choose two to make a yin-yang pot. There are four price tiers: NT$568 + 10% service charge, which includes all-you-can-eat hot pot, 20 Thai dishes, and all-you-can-eat Angus beef; NT$538 + 10% includes all-you-can-eat hot pot and 16 Thai dishes; NT$498 + 10% includes hot pot and 6 dishes (available only for business lunches); and the last option, NT$518 + 10%, offers all-you-can-eat 23 Thai dishes. You can choose a price point based on your preference.

Since the Thai dishes are made to order, you’re limited to ordering three dishes at a time. After those are served, you can order another three, and so on. The available dishes vary slightly depending on the price tier, and there’s a menu on the table for ordering. We chose the NT$568 per person option.

The dipping sauces are one of the restaurant’s specialties. Previously prepared by the staff, they are now customized by guests themselves.

The spicy sour green sauce is one of my favorites. It’s made with lemon juice, fish sauce, green chili, garlic, and other ingredients — refreshing and appetizing.

The Thai-style fermented tofu sauce is made with peanuts, fermented tofu, and Thai chili, giving it a rich and mellow flavor.

These two sauces each have their own unique characteristics, so it depends on personal taste.

Next to the sauces are steamed white rice and Thai lemongrass minced pork — said to be delicious.

Compared to regular minced pork shops, the flavor is no less impressive, plus the subtle fragrance of lemongrass adds an extra touch.

For the hot pot broth, we chose the classic Thai flavor — green curry sauce pot, and the most popular Thai spicy sour pot. It seems that every time we come, we end up choosing these two broth flavors.

You’ll be served one tray of ingredients at the start, and then the staff will provide table-side replenishment.

This kind of table-side service is one of the restaurant’s features — you can choose the ingredients you want and order as much as you’ll eat, minimizing waste.

We don’t eat beef, so our meat options were limited to the left-side pork collar and the right-side skinless pork belly.

We placed the meat slices in the Thai spicy sour pot and the vegetables in the green curry sauce pot. While waiting for the pots to boil, we could order Thai dishes.

The meat slices in the Thai spicy sour pot had a nice mildly spicy and sour taste.

Whether it’s pork collar or skinless pork belly, both have a bit of fat marbling, definitely a favorite for meat lovers~

I like to dip the meat slices in the spicy sour green sauce, which gives off a tangy lemon flavor that’s really appetizing, while my husband prefers the richer-tasting Thai-style fermented tofu sauce. Everyone has different flavor preferences. Next came a series of Thai dishes. You can order three at a time, and after they’re served, you can order the next set.

[Steamed Lemon Perch]

Even with an all-you-can-eat concept, the perch is still this big — the restaurant really goes all out. The lemon perch is tender and flavorful, not inferior to that of other Thai restaurants.

[Thai-style Pineapple Shrimp Balls]

The shrimp used is substantial, and the Thai-flavored shrimp balls have a rich layered taste, with a refreshing mouthfeel.

[Moon Shrimp Patties]

The super thick moon shrimp cakes are packed with juicy shrimp meat, offering a satisfying and delicious texture.

[Thai-Style Stir-Fried Pork with Basil]

The aroma of Thai basil is rich, and the pork is stir-fried until each piece is distinct and flavorful—perfect for whetting your appetite and pairing with rice.

The side lettuce can be used to wrap the pork.

[Shrimp Paste Cabbage]

The shrimp paste has a fragrant taste without any fishiness, and the stir-fried cabbage has a unique and tasty flavor.

[Thai-Style Spicy Chicken]

The chicken is fried until crispy and fragrant, with the richness of the fat bursting in your mouth—it’s really delicious with the dipping sauce.

[Thai-Style Stir-Fried Seafood Noodles]

[Mixed Cold Seafood Salad]

After enjoying a rich-flavored hotpot, have a refreshing plate of cold mixed seafood to change up the taste.

[Pandan Leaf Spicy Chicken]

Similar in preparation to the stir-fried pork with basil, it’s stir-fried until fragrant and pairs wonderfully with plain rice.

[Thai-Style Cold Beef Tartare Slices]

The beef tartare slices are made from pork skin, served with fresh vegetables and a Thai-style sauce for a refreshing taste.

There are truly 20 dishes, but in the end, we only ordered ten. Each dish is of high quality, and spending just over NT$600 per person to enjoy a full spread of Thai cuisine and hotpot is really great value. The dining environment here is also quite nice, making it perfect for gatherings with friends or family. Currently, among all branches in Taiwan, only the Wufu branch offers an all-you-can-eat Thai cuisine buffet. Thai food lovers shouldn’t miss this—highly recommended to everyone.
