The "Five-Star Chef Food Truck" has sparked a craze for Cuban sandwiches! Located in downtown Chiayi, a Cuban sandwich specialty shop opened in early April this year, featuring an industrial-style takeout-focused store with only six seats for dine-in, which are often packed. Notably, the shop provides a "sandwich tower" slicing service at no extra cost.

"Mr.Night Sandwich" specializes in Cuban sandwiches. The signature Special Cuban Sandwich combines pork and ham, piles on generous amounts of cheese and pickles, and is pressed between soft baguette bread, finished with a drizzle of mustard. The rich meat juices, cheese, and pickle flavors blend perfectly in the mouth, offering a wonderfully layered taste.

The menu is simple and straightforward, with five types of sandwiches priced between NT$90 and NT$120. The signature Special Cuban Sandwich is the shop’s star item, selling for NT$110 per serving, and occasionally features limited-time hidden dine-in flavors. This indulgent late-night treat has won over locals, with many pairing it with beer to savor the fulfilling experience of satisfying both appetite and spirit after a day’s work.

"Mr.Night Sandwich" was founded by a couple, Tang Yating and Huang Qinglin. "We felt there were mostly Chinese-style late-night snacks in Chiayi, with very few Western options, so we wanted to offer something different for the locals. Plus, since we’re night owls ourselves, we thought, why not open from the afternoon until the early hours?" said the owner.
