Breaking away from the traditional image of butcher shops, Taiwan Livestock offers a stylish and bright space for meat sales, attracting top-tier foodies. Since the Food and Drug Administration announced in September that it would allow the import of Japanese wagyu, Taiwan Livestock was the first to bring in Miyazaki beef for Taiwanese gourmets to try. This month, they’ve gone a step further by importing Omi beef—one of Japan’s three most prestigious wagyu brands—set to go on sale next week.

This month’s first-ever introduction of “Omi beef” is considered Japan’s oldest wagyu brand, known for its rich marbling and low melting point. The tender texture has won over many gourmet enthusiasts. Every batch of beef imported to Taiwan comes with a dedicated lineage record, complete grading certificates, and clear labeling of both male and female cattle. Weekly air shipments ensure consistent quality and freshness, giving consumers greater peace of mind. In addition, expert butchers can help customers select premium cuts tailored for steak, shabu-shabu, sukiyaki, stir-fry, and more. Customized luxury beef gift boxes are also available.

Taiwan Livestock General Manager Wang Zhixing stated: “Previously, we mainly imported meats such as Kagoshima black and white pork, but we’ve also been closely following the wagyu issue. Now that wagyu imports have been approved, we plan to continuously introduce different premium wagyu brands every week.” In addition to Miyazaki beef and Omi beef, other varieties such as Saga beef, Sendai beef, and Jōshū wagyu are under negotiation. This month’s first introduction of “Omi beef,” Japan’s oldest wagyu brand, is prized for its rich marbling, low melting point, and tender texture, which have captivated many gourmet connoisseurs.
