Travel Center / Comprehensive Report
Have you ever eaten a lobster bigger than your face? Located in Kaohsiung, Fangniu Banzhang specializes in various steak meals, particularly those featuring fresh seafood as toppings. The most eye-catching item is this4-kilogram deep-sea Boston lobster, spread out on a grill plate so large that the plate is barely visible—showcasing just how enormous this lobster is.

▲ This lobster, bigger than a human face, is as bold and hearty as it gets to lift.
Owner Chen Junwei explains that these deep-sea Boston lobsters are specially air-freighted from the United States. What makes them special isn’t just their axe-sized claws, which are incredibly satisfying to eat, but also the tender, springy texture of the lobster meat. This Boston lobster is a full six times larger than your average market lobster—it’s enough to make anyone’s mouth water just looking at it.
The owner recommends preparing a 4-kilogram lobster in three ways: the head steamed, the claws salt-grilled directly, and the body split between salt-grilled and q grilled—or choose one of the two. Such a massive lobster naturally comes with a high price tag,at 6,000 NTD per lobster. The owner says that an ordinary Boston lobster in the market weighs about 600 grams (roughly 1 jin) and even that sells for over 1,000 NTD. For a 4-kilogram lobster at 6,000 NTD, the price is reasonable and not considered expensive.
