Universal Studios in the U.S. has been invaded by zombies — The Walking Dead theme park opens this summer

Universal Studios in the U.S. has recently addedThe Walking Dead Mazeto its park, set to officially open during the summer of 2016. The park has meticulously designed the zombie maze, with all scenes, costumes, and even props replicated according to the hit TV series The Walking Dead, aiming to bring classic scenes from the screen directly into the park for an immersive fan experience.

To enhance realism, the park specially hired Greg Nicotero, who serves as both a producer and special effects makeup artist for The Walking Dead, to transform staff into hyper-realistic zombies just like those in the show. Additionally, many terrifying effects have been installed to scare visitors, including iconic scenes, chilling short videos, various traps, and fake bloodstains. Guests can feel as though they’re in the middle of the storyline, experiencing the nerve-wracking thrill of being chased by a horde of crazed zombies.

In recent years, Universal Studios Hollywood in California has frequently hosted Walking Dead-related events. With the show’s popularity continually rising, the park has decided to make the Walking Dead maze a permanent theme park feature. Visitors will navigate through multiple dramatic scenes while evading large groups of zombies, using clues left by others and park hints to find the exit.
