The Yushan Xiding Area is Blanketed in Pink as Yoshino Cherry Blossoms Reach Full Bloom

As cherry blossom season sweeps across Taiwan, the blossoms along the Alishan Highway have also begun to bloom. The Yoshino cherry trees lining the highway are bursting into pink, transforming the road into a sea of color. Visitors to Alishan can not only enjoy the iconic King Cherry Tree, but also take a leisurely stroll along the Xiding section of the Alishan Highway — where the entire road turns into a “pink highway.”

Near the 55-kilometer mark of the Alishan Highway, the Xiding section is now home to dozens of fully bloomed Yoshino cherry trees. Photographer Flying in the Sky used aerial photography to capture the romantic pink scenery. In addition to the Yoshino cherries, other varieties such as double-flowered cherry (Yaezakura), Kanzan cherry, Fuji cherry, and botan cherry will soon begin blooming throughout Alishan.
