Grand Hotel Taipei has also seized the opportunity, launching the “First Lady” themed Chiang Kai-shek & Soong Mei-ling Café. By combining historical background and stories, the café not only hangs Soong Mei-ling’s beloved rush hat at the entrance but also sells related CC merchandise to attract consumers and tap into a broader market.

First Lady CaféLocated on the first floor of the Qilin Hall at Grand Hotel Taipei, the café boasts an excellent location with views of the Keelung River in front, Yangmingshan Mountain behind, and distant sights of Taipei 101 and Songshan Airport. It offers visitors a chance to enjoy coffee while taking in the scenery, easing the stress of busy urban life — making it a great spot to relax body and mind.

It is said that when Soong Mei-ling visited Grand Hotel Taipei for afternoon tea, the café was created in her honor by blending Chinese and Western styles. Unlike its peers, the business hopes to leave a deep impression on visitors through a retro, personality-driven style.
