Blue stars darting through the woods! The "Nanliao Firefly Watching Season" in Baihe, Tainan has begun

Now in Tainan’s Baihe District, you can not only admire the world’s most beautiful kapok tree-lined paths but also venture deep into the woods at night to witness shimmering blue firefly lights. The "2016 Nanliao Rural Firefly Watching Season" has officially kicked off and is now open for public registration. The firefly-watching activities will run until May 31, allowing travelers to plan a one-day trip to Baihe District.

During the event period, the Nanliao Rural Firefly Watching Season offers two viewing sessions from Monday to Thursday, and three sessions from Friday to Sunday as well as on national holidays, with a daily limit of 300 participants. The Nanliao Rural Cultural Industry Association stated that visitors can register via the official fan page(click here for the link)by private message, with a registration fee of NT$100 per person.

The Nanliao Rural Cultural Industry Association also reminds participants that since the firefly-watching walk lasts about one hour, those with mobility issues or pregnant women should take note. To minimize ecological disturbance, all attendees must bring their own flashlights with red cellophane covers and wear long sleeves, long pants, and cloth shoes.
