The lowest-priced air tickets are now available on the official website    Uni Air’s booking system to go international on the 19th

Starting April 19, Uni Air will adopt the Amadeus reservation and ticketing system, making it easier for travel agencies worldwide to book flights to Taiwan’s outlying islands and allowing consumers to enjoy greater discounts.

Amadeus is one of the world’s largest reservation and ticketing systems. Travel industry professionals using any Global Distribution System (GDS) can now book both international segments and Uni Air’s domestic routes under a single code and issue tickets. Transparent pricing and a convenient booking and ticketing process will help boost tourism in Taiwan’s outlying islands.

With the system upgrade, Uni Air has reduced the number of distribution layers, enabling consumers to directly enjoy more favorable prices — essentially, travelers can now purchase the airline’s officially lowest-priced tickets on its official website, eliminating additional fees associated with purchasing through travel agencies. Uni Air noted that, for example, a one-way ticket from Magong to Taipei for residents of the outlying island of Penghu, which might be priced around NT$1,193 when sold by a travel agency, is only NT$988 under Uni Air’s current online promotional price, with the NT$205 difference fully passed back to the traveler.

Uni Air also pointed out that due to the system transition, services such as online and mobile app bookings will be suspended between 8:00 p.m. on April 18 and 9:00 a.m. on April 19. Passengers traveling on domestic flights between April 19 and April 21 are advised to complete check-in procedures at the airport 40 minutes (previously 30 minutes) before their flight’s departure time to facilitate smooth boarding procedures.
