To your left is the eastern side of Boracay, and to your right is the western side—the narrowest part in the middle is less than a kilometer wide. Near Boracay’s Pier 1, there’s a rock formation standing in the sea, with a statue of the Virgin Mary atop it—a symbol of hope for bountiful catches and safety among fishermen. From the Virgin Mary Shrine, you can clearly see the vast white sandy beach and crystal-clear waters. At low tide, you can even walk from the shore to the rock.
